Lanuza cops confiscate illegally-cut forest products

July 8, 2008 - Elements of Lanuza Municipal Police Station (MPS) received an information that a red pumpboat was sighted in Sitio Ipil, Barangay Agsam, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur loaded with assorted sizes of lumbers on Friday (July 4) at 5:30 in the afternoon.

Policemen immediately proceed to the area resulting to the apprehension of the suspects and confiscation of illegally cut forest products.

The suspects were identified as Juramie Mondragon of Barangay Taruc, Socorro, Surigao del Norte (SdN), Rosalito Rosilio of Barangay Del Pilar, Socorro, SdN, Jenrey Goltiano of Barangay Rizal, Socorro, SdN, Ryan Serdenia of Barangay Taruc, Socorro, SdN, Charlie Tive of Barangay Navarro, Socorro, SdN.

Also confiscated was 200 board feet of assorted sizes of lumber.

Suspects are now under the custody of Lanuza Municipal Police Station for proper disposition, while confiscated forest products were referred to Deapartment of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for proper disposition. (pia)
