Mayor Alfonso Casurra of this city assured Surigaonons that the local authorities are making their earnest efforts to rescue the Bank president who was abducted Wednesday night (January 7) in his residence at Ceniza Heights Subdivision.
Mr. Johnson Cuiting, president of Rural Bank of Placer was kidnapped by four armed men around 10:00 pm that barged into Cuiting's home, tied him up and his wife, seized away a number of valuables and used his Toyota Hi-Lux car with license plate KDL-692 as the culprits' get-away vehicle.
"The city government as well as the members of the Philippine National Police is taking all necessary measures for the safe return of Mr. Johnson Cuiting," Casurra said in a radio interview this morning.
Mayor Casurra also updated the Surigaonons that they have already recovered the vehicle used in the abduction.
Earlier, some relatives of the victim have urged the PNP and the City Government to speed up efforts to find him. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)

yes, get rid of those corrupt officials once and for all. surigao is a beautiful city run by ineffective officials - the rumor that the kidnapping is political related is disgusting! the government officails in charge should take control and find the kidnappers involved = even if they are govt officials - they need to be brought to justice!
