Report on loose firearm in Surigao City

On March 20, 2009 at 1:10 in the morning at Barangay Taft, Surigao City, PNP personnel of Surigao City Police Station together with BPLK (Barangay Pulisya Laban sa Krimen) apprehended the two suspects identified as Maximo Amazona Vertudazo, 25 years old, married, security guard from Tactical Expert Security and Protective Services and resident of Roxas Extension, Barangay Washington, Surigao City; and Jaime Santisas Goliman, 29 years old, also a security guard from Tactical Expert Security and Protective Services and resident of Bagong Silang, Barangay Washington, Surigao City for violation of RA 8294 (Illegal Possession of Firearms).

Confiscated from the suspects’ possessions were one .38 caliber revolver (armscor) with serial number 63802 and one .38 caliber revolver without serial number.

Arrested persons and confiscated items were brought to Surigao City Police Station for proper disposition while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court. (PNP-13/ PIA-Caraga)
