58 job applicants were immediately hired and another 957 await employers’ interviews as a result of the recently concluded Jobs Fair/Job Bridging activity held last October 28-29, 2009 at the Surigao City Auditorium.38 more job hopefuls are being line-up for future vacancies.Attended by no less than 1,070 job seekers and supported by five (5) recruitment agencies for overseas employment coming from the Cities of Davao and Cagayan de Oro, the activity was organized by the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by its manager Mr. Rolando H. Uyan, in support of the on-going effort by the city government to provide employment opportunities for its constituents. Employment promotions through Jobs Fair and related activities has been among the banner socio-economic advocacies under the present administration of Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra.
Aside from the five (5) out-of-town recruiters, one (1) Enterprise Bank offering for local employment also joined the activity. (surigaocity.gov.ph)
