A 4.9 magnitude earthquake Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte at 5:11 p.m. Thursday, the US Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The inland quake hit 65 kilometers east of Surigao at a depth of 107.3 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity. (inquirer.net)
