PGMA to inspect Agusan road project

The economy of the two Agusan provinces is expected to be boosted by the ongoing construction of the P1.73 billion Butuan City-Las Nieves-Esperanza-Bayugan Road project that will serve as a link between Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who will visit this city tomorrow to sign into law a bill creating the Caraga State University, will inspect the road project .

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Victor Domingo will update her on the progress of the 61.1 kilometer road project, realized under the Rural Road Network Development Project-III (RRNDP).

The project which will further connect to Bukidnon at the junction road in Barangay New Gingoog in Las Nieves was started on March 11 last year. It is expected to be completed on June 20, 2011.

The project involves the construction and improvement of road pavement, drainage and slope protection. It also involves improvement and upgrading of road shoulders and construction of four bridges.
