At least 18 secondary schools in different towns in Surigao del Norte province will receive very soon several school equipments including computers.
The school equipments and computers will be given by the provincial government to far-flung communities identified by the donor group.
The school assistance came from the Ayala Foundation through their Gearing-up Internet Literacy and Access for Students Project (AF-GILAS).
The AF-GILAS program is being fully supported by the provincial government in line of Gov. Robert Ace Barbers’ education program to communities.
At least 10 computers and 10 servers and other school equipments will be given to the 18 secondary schools.
The schools set to receive the said items are Alegria National High School, Lasicam Perral National High School, Lakandula National High School Annex, Mayag National High School Annex, Paco National High School Annex, Pili National High School Annex, Placer National High School, Villa Riza National High School, Amando Fabio Memorial National High School, Claver National High School, Mainit National High School, Matin-ao National High School, Tubod National High School, Taganito National High School, Masgad National High School, San Francisco National High School, Timamana National High School and Campo National High School
The turn over ceremony of the said items will take place on Monday (Jan. 18) at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Surigao City.
Top regional, provincial and city officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) and AF-GILAS officials will assist Gov. Barbers and other local government unit (LGU) officials in the province during the turn over ceremony. (PNA)
