That the recent and ongoing disruption of services at the port of Surigao is causing significant economic slowdown not only in Surigao but in Caraga as well.
That the strikers’ open declaration to disrupt the cargo handling services of cargo coming in and out of Surigao is a threat to the daily economic activity in Surigao, and is a direct menace to each and every Surigaonon who is dependent on the unhindered flow of economic and private goods in and out of Surigao.
That such disruption is also causing distress in the passenger and tourism traffic that goes through the port of Surigao.
That such disruption if not addressed TODAY or in the preceding days will constrict cargo movement that usually benefits more than 400,000 citizens as opposed to the claims of forty or so workers.

That the Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and the Surigao Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Inc., and the Surigao business community work on pressing the immediate resolution of the case to the parties concerned.
