1,284 4Ps beneficiaries of Taganaan, Surigao del Norte receive cash cards

The government's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) that is being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed the 4Ps cash cards to 1,284 beneficiaries of Taganaan, Surigao del Norte on June 9, 2010.

Luz California, 47, and a 4Ps beneficiary from barangay Opong was the first one to receive the cash card during the launching ceremony. The distribution of cash cards led by Landbank Surigao City Branch Manager Jaime Nejune Seron followed.

Taganaan Mayor Cesar A. Diaz in his speech exhorted the beneficiaries to cooperate with the program by complying the 4Ps conditions, while Ms. Leah T. Quintana, DSWD Regional Information Officer encouraged them to spend the cash grants on its intended purposes.

MSWDO Nenita Plaza, Ingrid Lim, 4Ps Financial Analyst II and some Sangguniang Bayan Board members and Barangay Captains witnessed the distribution.

Held at the municipal gym, the activity was covered by ABS-CBN Caraga.

The municipality of Taganaan has been a 4Ps recipient since 2009; it has a total of 1,359 4Ps beneficiaries. (DSWD-13/PIA-Caraga)
