Fun run hits road on Saturday

Sprinters and running fanatics will definitely hit the road on August 28, Saturday in Surigao City Boulevard for the fun run event.

The Surigao City Tourism Council, Inc. and the Surigao Adventure Specialists will sponsor the rain or shine fun run activity dubbed as “Jagan Para Sa Mamanwa,” a fund raising activity which proceeds will benefit the Mamanwa contingent that will join the grand parade on “Bonok-Bonok Marajaw Karajaw Festival” come September 10, 2010.

Richard Amores, president Surigao Tourism Council bared that cash prizes are at stake for the top three winners in three different categories which are 1.5 K, 3 K and 5 K.

Registration fee is 150 pesos which include light snacks and tag number for each runner.

Assembly time will be at 5:30 A.M. in Boulevard while the run starts at 6:00 A.M.

Entry of every participant is non-transferable and changes of race categories should be done before the start of the race.

Amores encouraged every participant to bring friends and group associates.

This activity is one of the highlights as the city will celebrate its 40th Charter Anniversary on August 31, 2010.
