The new leadership of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) is eyeing a public-private partnership (PPP) for massive development in Mindanao.
The PBMLP is aspiring to forge PPPs on entrepreneurship, infrastructure, environmental protection, education, social services, health, and livelihood projects to far-flung communities, especially projects that benefit the highlanders.
Surigao del Norte Senior Provincial Board (PB) Member Myrna M. Romarate, Caraga Region PBMLP president and newly elected PBMLP National Vice President for Mindanao, said all law making body in their respective provinces have vital role to play to achieve this goal, to make Mindanao more globally competitive.
“PBMLP should take a more active and strategic role in making representations with our national leaders on the urgent needs, to fulfill our vision to make our respective provinces globally competitive,” said Romarate, wife of Rep. Guillermo A. Romarate Jr. (2nd District, Surigao del Norte).
“PBMLP should evaluate its priorities and interface all our efforts to President Benigno S. Aquino III’s call for equitable progress,” she said before her colleagues in her acceptance speech after her election.
“PBMLP should aspire to forge PPPs in Mindanao in social services, education, environmental protection, entrepreneurship and health,” she also said.
“I join and adopt the call of P-Noy to harness the energies of dialogue, solidarity, and communal responsibility. With these, we can never waver with our aspirations for our respective provinces,” she added.
