New SSCT prexy assumes post today

Dr. Gloria Gemparo has formally assumed into office as the new president of Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT) today, December 1, replacing Dr. Virginia Akiate who is currently the CHED Caraga Director.

Prior to the post, Dr. Gemparo served as the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Surigao del Norte Division. This is also a sort of a homecoming for she was then a former College Education Supervisor and the Administrator of SSCT-Del Carmen Campus.

Earlier, Dr. Gemparo was formally sworn in to office by CHED Chairperson Patricia Licuanan on Thursday, Nov. 25 at the CHED Central Office following her successful election last Nov. 23, 2010.

Reports revealed that a formal welcome celebration has prepared for the new president later tonight at SSCT conference room. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
