Surigao Norte SK Federation sets elections on December 10

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in consultation and agreement with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) National Federation and the National Youth Commission (NYC) will conduct an election of officers for the Provincial SK Federation on December 10, 2010at exactly 8:00am at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Capitol Road this city.

According to DILG Provincial Director Domingo E. Bulabog the election of president, vice president and other officers is in compliance with the Local Government Code of 1991, Chapter 9 Book III.

The code provides for the organization of the Federation of Sangguniang Kabataan at the municipal, city, provincial and national levels and under Administrative Order No. 267 dated February 18, 1992 which delegates the exercise of general supervision of the President over the local government units to the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Prior to the election, an orientation/briefing on the SK organizational structure, functions and responsibilities of municipal, city provincial and national officers will also be conducted on the same date. (Susil Ragas, PIA-Surigao del Norte)
