The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) awarded recently around P2.4 million in scholarship grants for this school year to the province of Surigao del Norte under the Private Education Student Fund Assistance (PESFA) program.
The awarding of certificate of commitment was held during the recently held 1st Provincial Livelihood and Economic Summit in Surigao City.
A total 391 slots were made available to the two districts in the province with 312 slots awarded to the first district amounting to P1,849,087, and 79 slots allocated for the second district amounting to P548,700.
TESDA’s PESFA is directed to area-based critical skills that respond to emerging and highly in–demand job requirements in the local and overseas labor market which is purposely driven in accordance with the Seek–Find–Train–Certify-Employ policy of the agency.
The TESDA has come up with its qualification map or the list of courses based on the Key Employment Generators (KEGs) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) which in turn serves as basis for the scholarship vouchers. (TESDA/FEA/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
