SURIGAO CITY, Mar. 17 - A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck the province of Surigao del Norte at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake was located at 15 kilometers (km) southwest of Malimono, Surigao del Norte.
The tremor, which is tectonic in origin, has a depth of 19 km.
Intensity 5 was felt in Placer, intensity 4 in Surigao City and intensity 3 in Butuan City.
Phivolcs said there were no reported damages, but aftershocks are expected.
