SURIGAO DEL NORTE, Mar. 17 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office here is doubling its efforts in its campaign to raise public awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
Just recently, DTI conducted a one-day Consumer Education Seminar in Surigao City on the salient features of Republic Act 7394 or Consumer Act of the Philippines.
Among the attendees of the seminar are the women’s group, barangay kagawads and officials, selected national line agencies and 4P’s beneficiaries. The activity is also in line with the Women's Month celebration, it was learned.
Topics presented and discussed during the session were Eight Basic Rights and Five Responsibilities of Consumer; Consumer Complaints Handling; Deceptive Sales Acts and Practices; and Household Energy Saving Tips.
Chairperson committee on Women and Family, City Councilor Rise Faith R. Recabo, in her message, lauded the effort of the DTI in organizing the said activity that provides valuable inputs and information as a consumer.
