Drug courier surrenders to media

SURIGAO CITY -A drug courier who acted as middleman for the supply of “shabu” to an island town in Siargao Island surrendered on Thursday to members of the local media.

Edgar “Loloy” Dulpina, a licensed security guard and sari-sari store owner, called it quits and personally surrendered to anchorman Nestor Guballa of DxSJ-FM and anchorman Rey Suravasquez of JoyFM who then turned him over to Surigao City Chief of Police PSupt Noel Silvosa, thru PSI Tessiel Moleta, chief of Police and Community Relations, at about 1:30 p.m.

 Guballa and Suravasquez, both members of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines-Surigao City Chapter, said Dulpina, a resident of Nueva Extension, this city, used to deliver an undetermined volume of “shabu” contained in packages to a certain “Luspe” in the town of San Isidro, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.

 They said the illegal substance was supplied to Edgar “Loloy” Dulpina by a drug lord identified as a certain Ebong Paular known as the drug source of Totong Dulpina, a big-time pusher and elder brother of Loloy.

Paular and Totong Dulpina are currently detained at the BJMP City Jail on drug charges, it was learned. PSupt. Silvosa lauded Guballa and Suravasquez for helping the PNP in its anti-illegal drugs campaign saying it was inspiring to know that members of the press were also concerned for “change” under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

 PSI Moleta also thanked the two radiomen for serving as bridges to woo drug personalities into turning a new leaf in their lives to become law-abiding and productive citizens of the community.
