MAINIT, Surigao del Norte (Aug. 26) - The municipality of Mainit made "a
serious dent" in its "zero-tolerance" drive against illegal drug
activities, with the police arresting the town's top drug personality.

The latest suspect arrested was identified
as Marissa Paramo y Gallardo, 39 years old, married, businesswoman, and a
resident of Purok Roses, Brgy. Roxas, this town.
She was apprehended during a buy bust
operation conducted by elements of Mainit Police Station around 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016.
Confiscated from the possession and control
of the suspect were : three sachets of suspected shabu estimated weight
0.12711g, with a market value worth P1, 500, one blue cellular phone (cherry
mobile), one piece disposable lighter color blue, open cigarette pack with
transparent cellophane inside, cash money worth P600 including the buy-bust.
Seized items were duly inventoried in the
presence of Barangay Capt. Viviano T. Febra , Barangay Roxas, Mainit, Jessie Digol
of DOJ, and Nestor Guballa, media representative who subsequently signed the
buy-bust operation documents.

The arrested suspect together with the
seized items was brought to Mainit Municipal Police Station for proper
disposition. Cases for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12, Article II of RA
9165 are now being prepared for filing against the suspect before the
Provincial Prosecutors Office.
